Lichfield Cathedral Chorus will be joined by Lichfield’s Darwin Ensemble Chamber Orchestra for a performance of the Bach Christmas Oratorio.

Composed in 1734 this work used much new material as well as incorporating some of Bach’s existing music both sacred and secular adapted to fit the context. The text, which is based on the account of the Birth of Christ was compiled by Picander.
