Lichfield Cathedral Chorus Singing Workshop ()
On Saturday 13 June Lichfield Cathedral Chorus invites choral singers to a Singing Workshop at The Coton Centre, Tamworth from 10:15 until 17:00. (Registration from 10:00.)
We will be working on Bach’s fabulous Magnificat. Our Musical Director, Ben Lamb, will be guiding us through the music and providing helpful singing tips along the way.
What will make this an extra special day is that in the afternoon there will be a professional string quartet providing the accompaniment along with a chamber organist.
At 4pm, there will be an informal performance of the music when the singers, quartet and organist will be joined by soloists. Family, friends and other guests are warmly invited to attend, and there is no charge for this although donations will be welcomed.
The Singing Day is open to all singers but is probably best suited to those with some experience of choral singing, however familiarity of the work is not essential. There will also be support from members of the Chorus who have started learning the music in recent weeks.
Singers’ tickets for the day are £20 which includes hire of music and light refreshments. You are asked to bring your own lunch please.
